MD (Post Graduation): Presently there is one postgraduate junior resident appearing for final MD (Medical Biochemistry) examination. Apart from regular teaching/ learning activities, she is regularly posted in clinical departments and at district hospitals of teaching district.

M.Sc. (Post Graduation): There are presently six postgraduate students, two each in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, pursuing M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) course. Their training programmes include SIS, Seminars, Presentation, Journal club meetings, discussions and practical exercises regularly. The 3rd year students are appearing for their final M.Sc. examination.

Seminars and CME: Weekly departmental Seminars are organized by department on topic of current interest. Faculty members also participated on CME organized by other departments.

Community and Patient Care Services: Operating as a unit of CLS, the department provided clinical lab services in several routine biochemical parameters and emergency services. The department runs a regular thyroid hormone profile clinic and has also been providing services for fertility hormone assays (FSH, LH, Prolactin) and tumor markers.

Investigations involving specialized biochemical and molecular biological techniques are also provided both for patients’ service as well as for academic purposes. Serum and hemoglobin electrophoresis is also provided for patient care services under specialized investigation.
