| Plan
of Action |
- The department plans to
start specialized services
in the areas of
De-Addiction.
- In the view of
increasing inpatient load,
the department feels the
necessity of increase the
number of beds available.
- Liaison will be carried
out with specific higher
centers abroad for training
of faculty members in the
above mentioned
sub-specialties.
- The department also
plans to assist in running
volunteer counselling and
testing (VCT) service at
BPKIHS.
- Department plans to
strengthen and increase the
number of beds of
De-addiction unit after
shifting to new building
which is under renovation.
- The Psycho-diagnostic
services will be made
available in the outreach
program clinics on as
required basis.

Details of Departmental
Activities undertaken |
- A new specialized OPD-
Child Guidance Clinic has
been started and found to be
popular.
- Very soon De-Addiction
Clinic is planning to start.
- A series of Guest
Lectures on Child and
community Psychiatry, Adult
Psychiatry were undertaken
by visiting faculty Prof.Dr.
Indira Sharma, BHU, India.
- Keeping in mind the
vision of the Institute,
outreach clinics in Dhankuta,
is carrying out in monthly
basis and in Inaruwa
hospital is fortnightly
basis.
- An active participation
in inter departmental
activities was made by this
department, particularly
with department of Gynae &
Obs and Family Medicine.
- As our plan, the
department has acquired
modern ECT equipment and
also going to acquire
Biofeedback machines in near
future.
